Cross Sell 2026

Every guest wants to make the most of their time in Amsterdam, and many are looking for more than just one experience.

The Cross-Sell Program makes it easy to recommend other activities across our collection, helping guests discover even more while rewarding you for every successful booking.

On this page, you'll find everything you need to know about how the program works, how you earn commission, and how you can compete for some fantastic prizes along the way. We'll also address frequently asked questions below.

Why does this initiative exist?
In recent years, Flagship has expanded to include more boat tours, bike tours, walking tours (including lekker food tours), a hands-on stroopwaffle experience, cocktail workshop, high end dinner and evening cruises, private group experiences, day trips to popular towns outside of Amsterdam and more - and many staff and guests don't realise.

So, to help guests make the most of their visit to Amsterdam, we want to make sure they know all the wonderful experiences they can enjoy with us. And to sweeten the deal, we're giving them a 15% discount to say thank you for re-booking with us.

How it works

Every employee receives a personal discount code, for example JENNA15 to provide to guests following their experience with you. Guests who use your code to book another experience, will receive 15% off their booking.

Example:
"You mentioned you also wanted to do the Food Tour. Here's my discount code, it'll give you 15% off when you book."

Every time your code is used by a guest for an additional booking, you earn 5% commission on the full booking value. Commission is paid monthly together with your salary. This is an extra reward and does not replace any existing bonuses or incentives.

During July and August, the 5 employees with the highest number of cross sell bookings each month each win €1,000.

Please note: Winners are determined by the number of bookings, not the booking value. You must have at least 40 cross sell bookings that month to qualify. Misuse of your personal code will result in disqualification.

What you need to know

- Your personalised code has been emailed to you, make sure you check your junk/spam
- Flyers are available to collect from your workplace. For Flagship Amsterdam you can collect these from Front Office.
- This initiative is for returning customers, not walk-ins.

BOAT Awards

The Cross Sell Award is also part of this year's BOAT Awards.

Across the entire high season, the top 3 employees with the most cross sell bookings will receive:

1st place: €5,000
2nd place: €3,000
3rd place: €2,000

Again, rankings are based on the number of bookings, not their value.

Same rules apply - personal discount codes are for repeat customers only, not walk ins. Misuse of personal codes will result in disqualification.

When can I share my personal code?

Your personal code is to encourage repeat business only. Once guests have enjoyed an experience, you can share your recommendations on what else to see, do and experience whilst in Amsterdam, and offer your personal discount code to sweeten the deal.

This is not a code to share with walk ins and first time purchasers.

How do I get my personal discount code?

Check your email, it should have landed directly in your inbox. If not, it may be in your junk or spam. If you're still unsure, check with your manager or email marketing@flagshipamsterdam.com

Can a guest use my discount code more than once for different activities?

Yes! Your personalised code is to incentivse people to enjoy more products from across the Flagship Group.

Are the bookings with personal codes being checked?

100%. All bookings are being reviewed for approval prior to payment of commissions. This ensures that codes are being used correctly and the competition stays fair. Misuse of personal codes will result in disqualification from the awards and you may be removed from the cross sell initiative, meaning you will no longer be able to earn a commission.

Do I mention to guests that I earn a commission?

No. This, along with pushy or aggressive sales tactics will not be tolerated. First and foremost, this is a surprise and delight moment for guests, in addition to their already wonderful guest experience.

If one guest books four tickets in a single booking, does that count as one cross sell or four commissions?

In this scenario, it counts as one booking and you would receive commission on the entire booking value. The 5% commission does not change if people book together or not.

Do I receive commission on every return booking made with my code?

Yes! It's as simple as that!

How much commission do I earn per booking?

5% on the total value of the booking on return bookings where your code is used.

Do I need to work a minimum number of shifts to qualify?

If you're working, you're in the game!

When is the commission paid out?

Monthly, alongside your regular pay. Please know bookings are being checked and approved prior to payment of commission.

Where can I find my code if I forget it?

Firstly, check your inbox – hopefully you saved the email! If not, ask your manager or email marketing@flagshipamsterdam.com

Can I share my code with friends and family?

You can access 25% discount for family and friends from HR. Just get in touch with HR for this.

Can I share my code publicly online?

No, this is your personal code to use for returning guests only. It is not to be shared publicly online.

Does my code ever expire?

Only once you leave the Flagship family your code will expire.

Do I earn commission on the discounted price or the original booking value?

Commission is paid on the total value of the booking paid by the customer.

What happens if a booking is cancelled or refunded?

Then no commission is paid. Commission is only paid on completed bookings.

If I’m working with another crew member, whose code should we use?

If you're working a shift with someone else (for example, a skipper and a host), please rotate whose code you share with guests, so everyone has a fair opportunity to earn.

When should I mention another activity?

Storytelling should be natural and not forced. Find opportunities within your storytelling to mention classic dutch things - like eating stroopwaffles, riding a bike or seeing the city by boat at any time of the day. Then at the end of the tour, share the flyer and your discount code with guests. If you're recommending things to guests throughout, this may also be the right time to mention it - we're empowering you to find the right time that makes sense for your guests. However, pushy and aggressive sales tactics won't be tolerated. The guest experience is still the number 1 priority!
